The 45KS was introduced in 1968 with the brand knew 4500 caliber designed by Dani Seikosha. It featured an angular case with sharp edges with a reference number 45-7000. The 4500 movement was designed as a hi-beat successor to the 4400 series of movements. It is a manual wind caliber that ticks at 36,000 beats per hour, or 10 times per second. In 1970, a new case design was released, 45-7010. It featured a more conventional oval shaped case with a brushed finish but houses the same great 4500 series movement.
