About Us

G.C. Murphy is a NE Ohio–based destination for luxury vintage and pre-owned watches, fine writing instruments, and select jewelry. We curate pieces with an enthusiast’s eye and present them with a boutique-level experience, focusing on authenticity, condition, and timeless design. Whether you’re building a collection, searching for a signature daily-wear piece, or selecting a meaningful gift, our goal is to make the process feel confident, comfortable, and distinctly elevated.

Our story began in 2019 as a bicycle sales and repair shop called Your Best Self Bicycles, built around craftsmanship and hands-on service. In mid-2020, we moved into part of a historic G.C. Murphy Company 5 & 10 store building in Salem, Ohio. Inspired by the building’s heritage, we rebranded as G.C. Murphy Bicycle Company and refined our specialty to 1970s–1980s road racing bicycles—an era defined by elegant geometry, purposeful engineering, and enduring style.

In mid-2022, our passion for finely made objects naturally expanded into fountain pens and wristwatches, bringing the same attention to detail into new categories of collecting. In 2023, we added jewelry to our offerings, with an emphasis on heritage makers and enduring craftsmanship. Then, in early 2026, we reintroduced ourselves as G.C. Murphy, moved to our current location, and refined our focus. We discontinued much of our bicycle inventory to specialize in luxury vintage and pre-owned watches, writing instruments, and jewelry, while still maintaining a curated selection of components and accessories for high-end vintage road racing bikes.

Today, we regularly offer watches from brands such as Rolex, Tudor, Seiko, Grand Seiko, Omega, & more, alongside writing instruments from Pilot, Sailor, Montblanc, Ban-Ei, and beyond. Our jewelry selection includes pieces from Tiffany & Co., chosen for their heritage, design, and lasting appeal. We also provide services that help clients enjoy their pieces for years to come, including expert fountain pen repair with a focus on Montblanc and Japanese-style eyedropper pens.
