Pocket pens are designed with portability in mind. While capped, a pocket pen will measure less than 125mm from end-to-end. However, when posted, it becomes a full sized fountain pen. Pocket pens were popular in the 60's & 70's but recently have been making a comeback. Being easy to slip in a pocket or purse make pocket pens ideal for travel and those who are always on the go.
This is one of the more unusual and uncommon pocket pens. Sources suggest this is made by Platinum with a nib containing the 3232 JIS mark. That JIS number is registered to Kawakami-Giken, a job shop owned by Haruo Kawakami. The uniqueness of the pen lies in its over/under feed system. The pen has a typical feed under the nib. However, there is a thin piece of metal that covers most of the slit in the nib that acts as an over feed. The capillary space between the overfeed and nib is filled with ink making available a larger reserve of ink when the user begins to write.
The pen is nicely decorated with leaves. There is a small dent in the cap that is largely unnoticeable. The pen is in (C) Good condition. The nib is marked GF 18K, which is assumed to be gold filled (slightly thicker than gold plate).
