Ban-Ei Japanese Eyedropper Fountain Pen handmade by Japanese lathe-master Eisuke Sakai and Tsuchida Shuichi, who was in charge of final assembly. This pen features a large Warranted 14K Gold Fine nib made by the legendary Japanese nib master Ginjiro Kabutogi, and is stamped with "6-0" along with one of his JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) registration numbers, 4622. Kabutogi is known as one of the greatest post war nib-masters and his nibs offer an amazingly unique writing experience. This Pen is in fair condition. There are a few spots of finish damage in the urushi lacquer, the Gold plated trim shows extensive wear. The pen's original cork seal chamber cover has stripped. Our service department has bypassed the original seal chamber utilizing a custom fabricated seal holder. Please note, that this pen is not all original. It still functions, just not exactly as original. Normally, one must open the eyedropper valve several turns to get proper ink flow, this pen only requires about a 1/16th of a turn at most. Opening the valve more than this will cause the pen to leak ink. The cosmetic and mechanical condition of this pen is reflected in the price.

This pen has had the worn out, original cork shutoff valve seal replaced with o-rings. Providing a great alternative to prevent leaks near the back of the pen. 90 day warranty on service work.
