Ferme was a minor Japanese pen manufacturer known for their high quality writing instruments. Founded in Tokyo in 1928, they had produced many writing instruments in collaboration with the Ishikawa Kinpen Seisakushô manufacturing company. This is identifiable with the J.I.S. (Japanese Industrial Standard) number printed on the nib (3231). 

Ferme was a prominent manufacturer of writing instruments before the Second World War, but struggled in the decades after. Production had dwindled in the 60's and 70's and in 1985 the company closed their doors. 

This particular pen was likely made in the twilight years of Ferme. The pen features a large, 14K Gold Extra-Fine Nib, and utilizes the Platinum proprietary Cartridge/Converter system.
