In the early 1970's Montblanc introduced a new "Three-Digit" Classic line to replace the "Two-Digit" models from the 60's. The Three-Digit models included 3 different categories: Meisterstuck, Mid-Range, & Economy. In the Meisterstuck, or Masterpiece, tier was the No. 121.

Between 1971 and 1975, Montblanc produced five different precious metal variants of the No. 121. The 1246 was 14K Gold Plated, the 1266 was 925 Sterling Silver, the 1276 was solid 14K Gold, the 1286 was 18K Solid White Gold, and the 1296 which was 18K Solid Yellow Gold.

This particular pen is the 1246 made of solid brass and plated with 14K Gold. Overall this pen is in A, Very Good, condition.
