The Parker 61 was introduced in 1956 with a state of the art "Capillary Filler" system. To fill the pen, one simply dipped the capillary cell into a bottle of ink and the pen would automatically fill using a physics phenomenon known as "Capillary Action." This new filling mechanism offered an easy and clean way to fill your pen. The Capillary Fillers were produced from 1956 to 1969. In 1970, Parker simplified the filling system to use a standard Parker cartridge or converter. These pens were called Mk III. This particular pen is a Mk III Cartridge/Converter filler.
