In 1959, the Montblanc line up was redesigned. All three-digit pens (142, 144, 146) except the 149 were discontinued. The new line up was slimmer and fitted with a new “butterfly” nib. The pens were segmented into three tiers Meisterstuck, Medium Range and Economy. The pens came in two sizes. Pens ending in “2” were smaller in size while pens ending in “4” were larger.
