A vintage Pilot Taka-Maki-e fountain pen. This pen features a beautiful depiction of two Mandarin Ducks or Oshidori. In Japan, mandarin ducks are a symbol of eternal love, devotion, and affection. This artwork was created by a Namiki Kokkokai artist. The Kokkokai are among the greatest maki-e artists. Their signature can be seen on the pen.
Overall, this pen is in (C) Good Condition. Some moderate wear can be seen in the lacquer at the edge of the cap, both at the top and the bottom. Please see photos.
