The Pilot Deluxe was launched in 1976 as the model line immediately above the Pilot Custom. It has slimmer and more elegant profile. It was made to be suitable with business attire. This pen has a maki-e phoenix  signed by the studio artist. Original retail price in 1979 was 21,000 yen.
