Founded in 1919, Platinum has been producing high quality fountain pens for over 100 years. They are considered one of the "Big Three" of Japanese major pen manufacturing. Platinum holds that title alongside Pilot and Sailor, producing some of the highest quality fountain pens in Japan.

This nib is one of Platinum's "10 - Year" Iridium nibs. The 10-Years referred to the ten year warranty that Platinum offered on the iridium tipping material on the pen.
