The Montblanc two-digit model number pens were replaced in 1968 with the Classic line-up. The pens reverted back to a three-digit numbering system. The pens were offered in various colors and finishes. The pens were offered in just one size. Pens produced from 1968 through 1973 used the initial feed design which utilized a hole for airflow. In 1974, the feed was redesign and the hole was deleted. This feed remained in production through the end of the line in 1979.
The No. 221 is in the Medium Range tier. The pen features a 14K gold fine nib. The pen is in very good condition.
