Pre-owned Pilot Custom Kyomon fountain pen inscribed with the Buddhist sutra (scripture). The scripture is the heart sutra. The Kyomon version of the Pilot Custom was launched in the early 1970s with production going into the early 1980s. There were four versions of the Heart Sutra fountain pen produced. Polished sterling silver body with engraved lettering, Sterling silver body with raised lettering, brass body with black laquer and brass body with red laquer. The laquer versions originally sold for more than the sterling silver versions (35,000 yen vs 25,000 yen). However, the engraved sterling silver model appears to be the least common today.

This version is the sterling silver body with raised lettering. Pen is New Old Stock. Comes with original Pilot converter and box. Pilot pens are fantastic writers. This is an uncommon variant of the Custom series.
