Kabutogi is known as one of the greatest post war nib-masters and his nibs offer an amazingly unique writing experience. This Pen is in D, Fair condition. Minor scratches and scuffs can be seen on the barrel, cap, and grip section. Moderate discoloration due to ink staining can be seen on the barrel. This pen's unique design is referred to as "Kamakura-bori." Named after the ancient lacquerware technique from Kamakura, Japan. In regards to this pen, the process involves the layering of several different colors of urushi lacquer onto the ebonite pen barrel and cap. Then, a small knife is used to make the "divots" or "scallops" in the urushi, revealing the colors underneath. It is a time consuming process, but the result is well worth it!
This pen has had the worn out, original cork shutoff valve seal replaced with o-rings. Providing a great alternative to prevent leaks near the back of the pen. 90 day warranty on service work.
