Pocket pens are designed with portability in mind. While capped, a pocket pen will measure less than 125mm from end-to-end. However, when posted, it becomes a full sized fountain pen. Pocket pens were popular in the 60's & 70's but recently have been making a comeback. Being easy to slip in a pocket or purse make pocket pens ideal for travel and those who are always on the go.

Founded in 1919, Platinum has been producing high quality fountain pens for over 100 years. In 1963, they released their first Pocket Fountain pen which they called the "Poket" series. Through the 60's, 70's, and 80's, Platinum produced these pocket pens out of various materials with different designs. 

Platinum nibs are usually made out of 18K gold, but can sometimes be found with 14K, 22K, and even 23K gold in pens produced at the height of the karat wars. They are marked with Chinese symbols known as "Kanji" which indicate the nib size. By translating these symbols, we can properly determine the nib size of each pen.
